On Feb 7, 2012 i got an email that was vaguely worded but implied that my usage had reached the 50% to 90% threshold required to generate a notification and recommending i sign on to my bell to view my usage. Lately i have been inactive on my computer, so I worried that something had gone seriously wrong (Hacker?). I tried to contact Bell but was told I had to to go to bell and register at mybell. I really didnt want or need the aggravation associated with registering for another website and tracking all the crappy details associated with yet another "e-account". But if i was having a problem, i needed to stop the GBs-bleeding. SO I spent the better part of an hour finding a username and password acceptable to BELL, and signed on only to find that my usage was NOT 50%, not even 20% ... it was only 1.5% . SO why did Bell pull this ruse? because one of the decisions that had to be made as a result of this registration was for e-billing! I dont have problem with e-billing but, honestly, if the corporations don't want to share the wealth with a discount for ebilling, i don't see any reason for me to volunteer to save them $1 in postage and handling and shoulder the responsibility for managing the billing. So i complained to Bell about this misleading practice and the woman who answered my complaint tried to blame me for the intentional misunderstanding initiated by Bell, even going as far as to say, "if you truly received an email notifying you of excess usage,,,,". All I can say is welcome to the new world ruled by corporations, where nothing is real, and if the company gets caught doing a bald faced ruse to trick your clients, be sure to find a way to imply the client is the one who is dis-honest! GEEZ!

it’s really sad how Bell has evolved into a company with a corporate culture of lies and deception… i signed up for internet last October, asking to be notified if my usage approached limits. The Microsoft "Teaser" software has been around forever. It's a good marketing ploy to get people using the product. End users will use what they are used to.
